My DS is 13 days old tomorrow and I have been exclusively BFing except one formula feed at the beginning. I have been using nipple shields almost every feed as firstly I was all cracked and bleeding and then he wouldn't feed without them. I currently have hives, so Bfing is very itchy as I have had an allergic reaction to some medication I am on (bugger!) Anyway I am looking at weaning DS off the nipple shields once my hives go away and was just wondering if anyone has any advice, as I have tried on and off, but he just doesn't seem interested and has refused to feed without them.
